The polar bear is the most significant land predator and the only bear that consumes flesh. Polar bears are pretty deadly and may easily tear a human to pieces, whether they are encountered in the wild or captivity.
However, Mark Dumas doesn’t see one polar bear as very dangerous. It is, in actuality, his pal.
Mark hugging this massive mammal and swimming with it in a pool proves that even the deadliest predators can have a soft, gentle side.
But it’s crucial to realize what makes their friendship work. Building any connection with a predatory animal takes years of nurturing and trust; you cannot just “befriend” a polar bear.
So, let’s roll back the clock.
Mark acquired this female polar bear in 1995 and gave her the name Agee. Mark and Dawn are married. Agee was an easy dog to handle and teach because, at the time, she was only six weeks old and a little bear pup.
That year, she even had an appearance in the movie Alaska. They also allowed her to play with the household pets and bottle-fed her.
Even though they spend most of their days playing together, Mark and Dawn now train Agee to appear in high-profile advertising.
Though Mark may be the only person who can live by sticking his head between Agee’s massive jaws, he does so without fear.
